The short version: an easy-going landscape puzzle where you guide a worm to the exit of each level, with apples as optional pickups along the way. Low pressure, quick to retry, and genuinely moreish once it clicks — but it ships with no explanation of its own, so the first few minutes are pure trial and error.

What it is

Worm and Apple is a browser puzzle game in landscape orientation (800×600 — on a phone you'll be asked to rotate). Each level is a little route puzzle: your worm starts somewhere on the board, an exit waits somewhere else, and apples sit along the paths between them. Published on GamePix on July 14, 2026, it's a young title — at review time it has no external ratings and no developer credit listed on the platform, so everything in this review comes from our own testing rather than a consensus of other players.

How it plays

The goal that matters is the exit, not the apples. Our playtester's strongest tip after a hands-on session: don't obsess over eating every apple on the board — route to the exit first, then come back for pickups once you understand how the worm moves. Levels are forgiving, difficulty stays on the easy side, and a run that goes wrong is quick to restart.

The one real bump: there is no tutorial and no on-screen explanation worth the name. You will spend your first minutes working out the rules by poking at things. If you like games that respect your intelligence and let you discover the mechanics, that's a feature; if you want hand-holding, it's the game's roughest edge.

From a hands-on session by our playtester (November 2, 2026):

"Pretty easy going, honestly. Don't bother gobbling up every apple — just make a beeline for the exit. I was up for another round right away. Only annoying bit: nobody tells you how to play at the start, so I fumbled around for ages before it clicked."

How we tested

Our automated rig opened the game in a real (headed) browser, cleared the consent banner, clicked "Ok, Play Now!" and drove real input events — three taps and four arrow-key presses — capturing before/after frames as evidence (see evidence/gamepix/worm-and-apple/). The playtester then played it hands-on for a few minutes. The game shows a rotating-device screen in portrait and runs instantly in landscape with no install.

The honest caveats

• No external consensus yet. The game has no player ratings on GamePix at review time; the verdict here is ours alone.
• Developer not credited on the platform page at review time — we don't guess.
• The missing tutorial is the single biggest complaint from our session; everything else was smooth.

Bottom line

If you want a calm, low-difficulty landscape puzzle that respects your time — retry in seconds, one-more-round energy — Worm and Apple is a pleasant little detour. Bring patience for the first ten minutes while it refuses to explain itself.
