The main screen is instantly readable: a purple playing field occupies a vertical strip in the center of the screen. A basketball sits at the bottom on a yellow hardwood court floor. Above it, a teal backboard holds a white-rimmed hoop with a red net. The score reads "0" in large pink numerals, and below the ball, the only instruction appears in yellow text: "swipe to play".

No menu. No settings. No tutorial beyond those three words.

The First Swipe

We dragged from the ball upward toward the hoop. The basketball arced through the air with satisfying physics — it follows a parabolic trajectory influenced by the speed and angle of your swipe. The ball dropped through the net, the score jumped to 2 (apparently counting the initial landing as a double), and a yellow star counter appeared at the top reading "★ 1".

Hoop Drift

After the first few baskets, the hoop started sliding laterally. By score 5, the backboard had shifted noticeably to the right side of the playing area. This is the core challenge: each successful shot makes the next one harder because you need to angle your swipe sideways rather than straight up. The ball always resets to center-bottom, but the hoop keeps moving.

Game Over

A missed shot ends the round immediately — there is no lives system or error tolerance. After game over, a dark overlay covers the court and displays "SKIP" at the bottom, indicating an interstitial ad. The ad overlay appeared after every single round in our testing.

What Stood Out

• Instant feedback. The ball launches the moment you release, and scoring triggers an immediate counter update. There is zero delay between action and result.
• The shop icon. A red basket icon sits on the left side of the playing area. This leads to cosmetic ball skins that can be unlocked with collected stars.

How to Play / Controls

1. Start with short, straight-up swipes. The hoop begins centered directly above the ball. Your first 3-4 shots require nothing more than a quick vertical drag. Save your angled shots for later when the hoop starts drifting.

2. Aim for the center of the hoop, not the backboard. Unlike real basketball, banking the ball off the backboard does not seem to help here. The ball needs to drop cleanly through the rim. A direct center shot is more forgiving than trying to use the board.

3. Watch the hoop position before you swipe. After each basket, the hoop slides to a new position. Wait for it to settle before you flick. The GamePix page itself recommends: "Wait for the hoop to be centered before releasing your shot for the best accuracy." That tip is slightly misleading — the hoop rarely returns to center after score 3 — but the principle of waiting for it to stop moving is sound.

4. Speed matters more than length. A fast, short swipe produces a tight arc that clears the screen quickly. A long, slow drag sends the ball on a high, looping trajectory that is harder to aim. Keep your swipes compact and decisive.

5. Collect stars early — they unlock skins that may help visual tracking. Different ball skins have different color profiles. If the orange default ball is hard to track against the purple background, a bright alternate skin could improve your aim.
